This is the first in a series of four cocktails created by different Detroit bartenders for Whiskey Rebellion 2016
Having worked at The Oakland for 3 1/2 years, Chas Williams has been tending bar for the last 2 and has recently been promoted to Head Bartender/Manager.
“The inspiration for the Lady Boots cocktail was to capture the season and location of the event. Being across the river from Canada lead me to use Canadian whisky as the base. To compliment that flavor I used Averna to add great dark flavors. To bring in some seasonal flavors I came up with a stout beer syrup using locally brewed beer with fall spices, sweetened with brown sugar.” – Chas Williams, The Oakland

1 ½ oz Forty Creek Barrel Select
½ oz Averna
¼ oz Stout Beer Syrup
Peychaud’s Bitters
Serve: Stirred
Glassware: Rock
Garnish: Nutmeg
